ReciProty is a Stevie Awards® Finalist!

RECIPROTY WAS NAMED AS A FINALIST IN
9th ANNUAL STEVIE® AWARDS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Stevie Award Winners to Be Announced in New York on November 9

Beaverton, Oregon (October 2012) – ReciProty® was named a Finalist in the Website of the Year category in the 9th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner in the program.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 9.  Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend.

More than 1,200 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year. ReciProty® is a Finalist in the Website of the Year category!

When its creator needed guidance and resources to help cope with her personal and business tribulations throughout the years, support wasn’t easily attainable. Knowing that she is not alone, Renee Wilbur set out to create an online community networking platform, where members can meet locally, to help one another thrive in their personal and business pursuits. The result is a local support system that provides: community service, business networking, small business resource and online marketing opportunities.

“ReciProty is the product of years of patience and relentless pursuit,” Wilbur explains.  “There was a time when community involvement and a trustworthy local support network were the backbone of American culture. ReciProty is bringing those ideals back to the forefront and the days of a local community are here once again. Unlike social networking platforms, ReciProty focuses on local communities and unites the human connection that people still need and long for, with the resources available utilizing today’s technologies.”

Finalists were chosen by more than 130 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  More than 90 members of the five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging.

“We’re very excited about this year’s Finalists in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.  “The judges have told me that they think this is the best and most inspiring crop of nominees we’ve ever had.  We look forward to seeing the judges’ final decisions.”

Wilbur explains, “ReciProty provides a place where members do not have to scramble and search endlessly for the support, resources, and information they need. Members can announce local events, notify members of the vital services available to them and share relevant information specific to their needs. Businesses, especially small business owners, are profiting by advertising their business for free, posting discounts, generating leads and sharing referrals instantly. Additionally, business members can share resources, promote upcoming events, network and build relationships with other business members online or on a local level. With ReciProty, business members are literally becoming each other’s sales force! Members are also learning, sometimes within minutes, what it took years for other members to learn.”

She continues, “With consideration, teamwork and an organized informational system, we can all profit by saving time, sharing resources and working together. By bridging the gap between needs and resources, members can build a supportive network for themselves, their business and even their loved ones in another state. ReciProty brings people together within minutes, so they can support each other online or in person, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Members are shopping locally, supporting one another, their non-profit organizations and a myriad of causes which strengthens their community, and ultimately themselves. ReciProty eliminates many wasted hours and is a powerful tool for personal and business support.”
“I would like to thank my husband, children, friends, and colleagues for their support. Most of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude to my team, for turning my vision into reality,” Wilbur passionately states. “With ReciProty, I am hopeful that your trials and challenges will turn into triumphs and victories.”
